"When singer, Devonna Rowe performs she makes sure that her audience goes away with a sense of history and a love of music." Her performances incorporate a historical perpective of how music is intertwined with history. The former music teacher has been performing in schools and colleges throughout the east coast for many of years. "As a former teacher I see the need for students to have many different approaches to learning." Rowe said that she sees her shows as a way for students to become interested in history by taking a journey back in time through music.

Interview with Performing Artist and Educator, Devonna B. Rowe

Devonna Rowe is a classically trained vocal artist and educator. With a B A degree in Music Education and a Masters degree in Vocal Performance, teaching experience on the college and public school levels and a strong performance background. Ms. Rowe is uniquely qualified to fulfill her passionate desire to bring a love of learning through the arts to schools, colleges and community organizations. When she involves the audience in her one-woman shows, workshops and residencies, she is adamant that the programs do more than entertain. "They must enlighten... make them think."
