Consultant In Arts Education
A consultant for the John F. Kennedy Center’s Education Department for many years, Devonna B. Rowe has led workshops for teachers at the Kennedy Center as well as throughout the United States. Making music a part of other subjects, teachers often receive inservice credit for the workshops that she presents.
Devonna designed Arts Education Programs for the United States Government's Youth Centers at Aberdeen Proving Ground and Edgewood Arsenal. Through these programs children of military personnel were involved in the arts. These students also attended concerts at the Meyerhoff and were involved in other activities in music and the arts. Students created their own dramatic presentations as well as dance and musical performances. Multicultural activities were very much a part of this program.

Working with students on land and sea Devonna, was invited to sail the Potomac and work with students that travel the world to study history. This opportunity was set in motion by President Clinton’s administration. These students from a private school in New York, were guided by Devonna Rowe as they experienced the lives and music of the African American People through music, song and dance
During the summer of 2000 Devonna took her abilities as an artist and educator to Japan where she was welcomed in the classroom as a singer. Her trip to Russia in 2004 allowed the artist to experience music and the arts through the lives of the people . As a consultant in music and arts education Devonna Rowe continues to present performances and workshops for students and teachers throughout the United States.
